Booknerd Would You Rather?
Good day to you bookworms!
Today I am torturing myself by answering a bunch of would you rather questions relating to books!
I watched a video over on Regan of Peruse Project’s channel and thought this seemed like a lot of fun!
The questions all come from a buzz feed quiz which you can find linked if you wanted to give this a try for yourself!
Would you rather have a friend who keeps losing your books, or one who dog-ears them?
Both of these things are pretty horrible to be honest, but having had friends who have never returned books and knowing how utterly frustrating that is, I’d have to go ahead and say I’ll keep the chum who dogs ears them. Soz book losing friend, but I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life.
Would you rather secretly love a book everyone else hates, or secretly hate a book everyone else loves?
I don’t really care. I mean, if it was a secret who gives a damn anyway? I guess maybe love a book everyone else hates… but either way, it doesn’t really matter.
Would you rather be stuck on a very long plane ride or a very long train ride without a book?
I’d have to say train ride. As much as I love flying I have to admit that staring out of the window at the sky gets a little boring after a while, if I was on a train I could check out the countryside.
Would you rather have dinner with your favourite author or your favourite character?
At first, I was like, “Definitely my fave author!” but having thought on it a bit more I’m not sure. There are so many characters I’ve felt a connection to, and so many unanswered questions I’d love to talk about. So I’m going to say my favourite character. Unless they were literally brought to life just to sit and have dinner with me, and then they were going to drop down dead. That would really suck and I’d feel completely responsible for their measly existence.
Would you rather date a character you have a crush on, or your crush from IRL?
Definitely my IRL crush, haha, as much as I love Sirius Black he’s not the father of my child and my best friend of all time.
Would you rather have your favourite book turned into a movie or your favourite movie turned into a book?
Ughh, now this one really is hard!
See, I’d be scared my favourite book got turned into a crappy movie, then suddenly it’s ruined for me because I’m really the book and all I imagine is the movie characters instead of the way I imagined it in the first place (Part of the reason that I hate Dobby as a character – he is nothing like I imagined in the books)
BUT if my fave movie got turned into a book, I WOULD FREAKING LOVE THAT. However, I’d already know what the characters were like, there’d be no surprises… and I’m a very visual person, so I dunno.
I think I’ll say movie to book, that way I love the movie and I’ll probably love the book too. I’m totally thinking of Donnie Darko while I write this. If that was a book, I would be so freakin’ happy.
Would you rather read a book with an annoying cliffhanger or one where your favourite character is killed off?
Maybe this sounds a little sadist, but I would prefer my fave character to die over a crappy cliffhanger.
I am a sucker for closure – when I’m left hanging I feel annoyed.
I’d rather cry tears of sadness than of frustration!
Would you rather lose the ability to read any new books, or the ability to reread books you’ve already read?
I have so many old faves and the thought of being unable to read them again makes me so sad!
However, being unable to read anything new and therefore giving up the chance to learn about new things or meet new characters is just horrible!
I guess I’m going to give up rereading then 😦
Would you rather live in a library or a bookstore?
As much as I love both of these places, I reckon living in a bookstore would be better than a library – new releases all the time, not having to wait for someone to finish with a book before I can read it… yeah, that sound like perfection to me. Particularly if my bookstore home has a café with board games to loan. That’s the dream!
Would you rather lose your place or get a paper cut everytime you read?
Heck, I lose my place now and that’s with a bookmark! I couldn’t stand getting a paper cut every time, I’d have practically no fingers left considering the amount I read!
Would you rather always have to read in the dark, or always have to read books with tiny writing.
See, both these would be a strain on the eyes which isn’t great.
I suppose I could get a torch? Is that allowed? Hmm… if I can only read in the dark does that mean I live in perpetual darkness? Or that I can’t pick up a book unless it’s night time?
I’m not down for that. I’ll go with tiny writing.
Would you rather read by a fireplace or on the beach?
Definitely by a fireplace, provided it’s not permanently lit.
I don’t fancy reading by a fire in the summertime, I think I’d overheat, but I’m not really the sort of person who spends a lot of time at the beach, or at least not to read… so yeah… fireplace it is.
This was actually easier than I thought it would be but I have to say, I am glad I’m never going to find myself in any of these situations, because that would suck balls and I would definitely cry.
That’s it from me today!
Let me know if you do decide to do this too and send me the links!
Until next time,
