The Goodreads Tag
Greetings to you, Bookworms!
How are you doing? Today I wanted to share another tag with you all – the Goodreads Tag!
This tag was originally created by SpiralBookmark over on YouTube, her channel is linked so you can check her out if you like (after you’ve read this post, obviously!)
The tag looked like a lot of fun, so I figured I would give it a go!
If you have a Goodreads account, you can follow me here! I’d love to see you over there, and while I’m not massively active, I do keep it updated with my current reads where I can.
Anyways, let’s do this!
What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?
The last book I marked as read was Shadowblack by Sebastian De Castell – bloody loved this novel, it’s so fast paced and easy to read – if you love fantasy novels with a touch of humour, I’d totally recommend it!
What are you currently reading?
At present I am reading Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik – it’s a fairytale retelling of sorts with elements taken from the Rumpelstiltskin tale. It’s pretty slow going but the descriptions and world building are incredible.
What was the last book you marked as ‘TBR’?
This was Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – this novel is high on my anticipated reads of 2019. I loved Evelyn Hugo by the same author so am hoping I feel the same way about this one!
What book do you plan to read next?
Next up I hope to read A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer – another retelling but this time of Beauty and the Beast, this novel has a lot of elements which appeal to me so I am really looking forward to seeing if it lives up to my expectations.
Do you use the star rating system?
I do indeed, but only lightly. I’m not super strict with it or anything, it goes a little like this:
1 Star = Terrible
2 Stars = Poor
3 Stars = OK
4 Stars = Great
5 Stars = AMAZING!
Are you doing a 2019 Reading Challenge?
Yep! This year my target is 52 books and I have to say, so far I am smashing it!
Do you have a wishlist?
I do but not on Goodreads, it’s on Amazon and if you want a nosey you can follow this link!
What book do you plan to buy next?
Probably the next book in the Spellslinger Series by Sebastian De Castell which is called Charmcaster. I wasn’t overly impressed by book one in this series but since reading book two I have to say I am totally hooked!
Do you have any favourite quotes, would you like to share a few?
I could write a whole bunch I love from random places and places unknown, however, I imagine this question is linked to books I have read and to be honest, nothing really springs to mind! I’m not one of those people who annotates what I read and writes down passages which really speak to me. I’ve never been great with details and I prefer to take a book as a whole as opposed to lots of little parts, such as quotes etc.
Who are your favourite authors?
This question though… are you trying to kill me?
– Neil Gaiman
– Marian Keyes
– Leigh Bardugo
– Philip K Dick
These are just a few, but I have so many!
Have you joined any groups?
I have indeed!
I am a member of Top 5 Wednesday, The Perks of Being a Book Addict, Mental Health Bookclub, Science Fiction Aficionados, Nothing but Reading Challenges and Horror Aficionados.
There is another question for this tag – add your own question, but in all honesty, I have nothing else to say! So there you have it, my Goodreads tag!
Let me know if you decide to do this tag too, I’d love to see it!
Until next time,
